San Francisco, Calif.-based LiveJournal announced Monday it will elect two bloggers to the company’s advisory panel. The bloggers will come from LiveJournal U.S. and Russian users.
“We appointed the first four members of the Advisory Board to represent a variety of constituencies with as little overlap as possible. The two LJ Users who will now be elected to the Board are no exception: the challenge for the voters is to identify candidates who will reflect the broadest spectrum of user interests and be able to advocate these positions in an effective manner,” Andrew Paulson, CEO of SUP, the owner of LiveJournal.com, said in a statement.
Nominations will be accepted until May 14 with voting the following week and the winner announced May 30. The user representatives will begin their one-year term June 1.
Current LiveJournal advisory board members include:
- Danah Boyd, blogger and Harvard Law School fellow.
- Esther Dyson, journalist and investor.
- Brad Fitzpatrick, LiveJournal founder.
- Lawrence Lessig, Stanford Univ. Law School Professor.
